Terms of Use
Effective Date: 25 July 2025
The Climate Displacement Lab (CDL) platform provides access to structured datasets, case documentation, and analytical outputs related to climate-induced displacement across South Asia. These resources are intended to support research, policy engagement, and informed public understanding of environmental change and human mobility. By accessing or using the platform, users agree to the terms outlined below.
CDL operates as a for-profit, research-oriented data platform. While certain datasets, analytical tools, or services may be offered under commercial arrangements to institutional partners, the platform maintains publicly accessible content intended for research and informational use. The existence of commercial activity does not extend to the sale or exploitation of personal user data.
All content available through CDL, including datasets, maps, text, and visualizations, is developed as part of an independent research process. These materials may be used for academic, research, and non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution. Users may not reproduce, redistribute, or present CDL content as original work, nor may they use such material in a misleading, decontextualized, or distorted manner.
CDL datasets are event-based and continuously evolving, often derived from a combination of verified and semi-verified sources. They are structured to provide analytical insight rather than definitive enumeration and should be interpreted within the methodological framework of the platform. CDL does not guarantee completeness or absolute accuracy and does not assume responsibility for how data is interpreted or applied.
CDL does not operate as an open submission platform for the general public. Data and case material incorporated into the platform are contributed by researchers, collaborators, or affiliated contributors. All such material is subject to internal review, standardization, and editorial discretion prior to inclusion in datasets or outputs.
The platform is provided as an evolving research system. CDL reserves the right to modify, update, or expand its content, datasets, and methodologies without prior notice. Use of the platform implies acceptance of these ongoing changes.
CDL is not liable for any decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from the use or interpretation of its data, analysis, or content. Users are responsible for evaluating the suitability of CDL materials for their specific purposes.
These terms are governed by applicable laws in India. For permissions, institutional access, or collaboration inquiries, CDL can be contacted at contact@climatedisplacementlab.org.
